Get involved

Our Snowpark Society depends on us as a community and our goal is to ensure that everyone feels they play a role in the delivery of our projects. The creation of Calgary’s first urban snowsport facility will only be made possible by individuals like you.

There are many costs involved in the development of a novel snowsport facility such as earthwork, snowmaking, equipment purchase, insurance, permits and much more. We greatly appreciate any amount you are able to contribute, every dollar counts!

other ways to get involved

Once the park is up and running, we will be looking for volunteers to help with the build, maintenance, events, and teardown. If this is something that interests you, sign up for our newsletter and be notified when volunteer opportunities arise.

VOLuNTEER

We will be working with individuals who currently lack the necessary equipment to participate in snowsports. Please send us an email to coordinate a gear pickup or drop-off. We are specifically looking for snow jackets and pants, snowboards, snowboard boots, skis, ski boots, poles, bindings, base layers, and helmets. We kindly request that the gear be in good, wearable condition, and garments should be cleaned before donating.

GEAR DONATION

Are you an artist wanting to get involved? We are always looking to collaborate with artists for limited run 'Ours' merch. Do you work for a company that might be interested in sponsorship? Send us an email, as we have tiers of sponsorship that can be tailored for your brand. If you have ideas for getting involved beyond our listed options, please reach out via email; we would love to hear from you.

Word of mouth is much more effective than social media. We ask that you share with your friends, family, coworkers, neighbors, strangers, and pets, both verbally and virtually. The more eyes we can get on the project, the more opportunities there are for fundraising.

LAND ACKNOWLEDGEMENT

Our Snowpark Society would like to acknowledge that our work and play takes place on the ancestral land of Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta. This includes the Blackfoot Confederacy which comprises the Siksika, Kainai and Piikani First Nations; Tsuut’ina First Nations as well as Îethka Nakoda Wîcastabi which includes the Good Stoney, Chiniki and Bearspaw First Nations.  It is important to know the traditional name of Calgary is Moh-kins-tsis and is home to the Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III.  It is an essential step towards reconciliation to understand and honor these lands as a tribute to the original stewardship of the First Nations, upon whose ancestral homelands we learn, share and promote the joys of snowsports.
